Most desert safaris give you thirty minutes of dune bashing as one course in a longer menu. This tour is for the travellers who want the main course twice. Our dedicated Dune Bashing Dubai experience puts the 4×4 drive itself at the centre: an extended session across the red dunes of the Lahbab Desert with a licensed desert driver, longer climbs, steeper descents, and more time on the sand than any of our combined packages offer.
Dune bashing in Dubai takes place at the Lahbab Red Dunes, roughly 45 minutes from the city. Most visitors don’t know which desert operator actually uses licensed drivers. We’ve run desert safari experiences since 2016 using Toyota Land Cruiser SUVs with UAE certified desert drivers.

5:30 PM | Extended Dune Bashing Part Two
Back in the vehicle for the second session typically the wilder half, now that the group has found its appetite.

What to Expect
The drive
Dune bashing at Lahbab Red Dunes covers dunes between 20 and 70 feet tall. Expect long climbs where the engine works hard, ridge traverses with the desert falling away on both sides.
Steep dune drops
Put your stomach a half second behind the rest of you. Drivers read the dunes constantly, routes change daily because the dunes do.
Intensity control
This tour attracts thrill seekers, but every vehicle drives to its passengers. The driver pitches to the most cautious passenger unless everyone agrees otherwise.
Motion sickness
This is double the usual off road driving time. Be honest with yourself. Skip heavy meals beforehand and sit in the front seat if you’re prone to queasiness.
Fitness and experience
None required as a passenger. Sandboarding is optional and beginner friendly, the guide walks you through it at the break stop.
Weather and timing
Morning departures from October to April get the firmest sand and sharpest handling. Sunset departures trade a little firmness for the best light of the day. Summer guests should strongly prefer morning slots. Sunglasses are near essential year round fine sand travels.

The mid drive break is built for its vehicles posed on crests, untracked bowls below. On sunset runs, long shadows stretch across the red sand dunes of the Lahbab Desert. Your driver knows the angles.
