Our driver, Tufail, was super friendly, funny, and an expert at driving through the dunes. The dune bashing was such a thrill but still felt completely safe. He even stopped at a great spot to see the red dunes, which were absolutely beautiful and perfect for photos. The BBQ dinner later on was delicious, with lots of variety, and the shows in the evening were so much fun! Everything was really well organized. It was one of the highlights of our trip, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting! If you can, ask for Tufail — he made the whole experience even better!Posted on QrlpVerified Most beautiful day in vip Dubai desert safari My vip desert safari tour was so great and wonderful and value service !! About Desert Safari with Quad Bike
Two questions come up in almost every booking conversation we have: “Can we drive something ourselves?” and “Can we still get the camp dinner and shows?” This package exists because the answer should be yes to both. The Desert Safari with Quad Bike combines a self-drive ATV session, classic 4×4 dune bashing, the sunset on the red dunes, and the full Bedouin-style camp evening — BBQ dinner, live entertainment, camel ride and all — into a single afternoon-to-night itinerary with one pickup and one price.
Here’s how the evening flows. After hotel pickup across Dubai and the 45-minute drive to the Lahbab Desert, the experience starts with you in the driver’s seat: a guided quad bike session on automatic ATVs, with a safety briefing, helmets and goggles provided, and a marshal-led ride into the open red dunes. The standard package includes around 30 minutes of riding — enough for beginners to find their confidence and reach the photogenic ridges — and longer sessions can be reserved at booking if the riding is your priority. (Dedicated riders comparing options should also look at our standalone Quad Bike Tour, which runs sessions up to two hours.)
Then you swap the handlebars for a seatbelt. A licensed desert driver takes over for the dune bashing leg — around 30 minutes of climbs, slides, and drops across the dunes in a safety-equipped 4×4, with the intensity adjusted to your vehicle’s passengers. It’s a genuinely different thrill from the quad: on the ATV you’re managing the sand yourself; in the Land Cruiser you’re free to just feel it. The drive ends on a high dune for the sunset photo stop, with sandboarding for anyone still carrying energy.
The final act is the desert camp. Arabic coffee and dates on arrival, a camel ride, henna painting and costume photos, then a BBQ dinner buffet with vegetarian options served while the live shows run — Tanoura dance, fire show, and belly dance under the night sky. It’s the same camp evening that anchors our flagship Evening Desert Safari; the quad session is what turns it from a great evening into a full desert day.
Who books this combo? Groups of friends and younger couples top the list — it’s the highest-energy itinerary we run. Families with teenagers love it because the 16+ solo riding age means the teens get a genuine adventure while younger siblings enjoy the camp. And one-shot visitors with a single free evening in Dubai choose it because it compresses the entire desert experience — self-drive, dune bashing, sunset, dinner, shows — into seven hours. If your group wants still more machine, upgrade the riding leg to the Can-Am Maverick X3 Dune Buggy, or go all-in on driving with the extended Dune Bashing Dubai tour. Groups wanting their own vehicle and timing can run the whole combo as a Private Desert Safari.
One honest note: this is the busiest itinerary we sell, and it rewards people who like full schedules. If your ideal desert evening is slower — more lounging, less throttle — the standard evening safari or the Camel Riding Safari with BBQ Dinner will fit better. For everyone else: this is the one that does it all.

What to Expect
Pacing. This is a full programme — riding, dune drive, sunset, and camp run back-to-back with short transitions. Guests who want it all love exactly that; pack your energy and eat a light lunch.
The quad session. Automatic ATVs, intuitive controls, and a practice loop before the dunes mean no experience is needed. Riders must be 16+ to drive solo; younger kids can do a supervised flat-sand loop while the riders are out — tell us ages at booking and we’ll plan it.
The dune bashing. Licensed drivers, roll-caged vehicles, seatbelts on at all times, and intensity adjusted on request. Coming straight off the quads, most groups ask for it lively.
At the camp. Open seating, generous buffet, and shows running through dinner. The pace finally slows here — shisha is available in the lounge area for those who want to end the night horizontal-adjacent.
Weather. October to April is ideal. In summer, the riding leg is the hot part — hydrate before and after, and consider the earlier pickup slot. Winter evenings cool fast after sunset; bring a layer for the camp.
Photography. Three distinct photo windows: action shots on the quads, the sunset ridge, and the fire show after dark. A strap-secured phone or action cam covers all three.

Additional Information
- Best time to visit: October to April. This combo’s afternoon slots are daylight-dependent, so winter dates book out 3–5 days ahead.
- What to wear: Closed shoes (mandatory for the quads), long comfortable trousers, and a layer for the post-sunset camp. Goggles and helmet are provided.
- What to bring: Sunscreen, a secured phone or action camera, and a small bag that can stay in the 4×4 during your ride.
- Safety tips: Follow marshal hand signals on the quads, keep seatbelts fastened through the dune drive, and ride within the briefed limits. Visitor guidance for the emirate is at Visit Dubai.
- Choosing your combo: Quad-first (this package) suits most groups; machine maximalists upgrade to the buggy; pure passengers should compare the Hummer Desert Safari. The full line-up lives on our Desert Safari Dubai page.
- Multi-day trips: Pair this high-energy evening with a slower next day — the Dhow Cruise Marina or a Dubai City Tour balance the itinerary nicely.
