What it is: A desert safari in Dubai is a 4–7 hour guided 4×4 trip into the Lahbab red dunes, about 45 minutes from the city. It includes 15–20 minutes of dune bashing, sandboarding and a camel ride, and evening tours add a BBQ dinner with live Tanoura, belly dance and fire shows. Prices start from AED 90 per person with hotel pickup included.
Evening safari: The evening tour lasts about 7 hours, with hotel pickup at 2:30–3:00 PM and drop-off at 9:30–10:00 PM. It includes 15–20 minutes of dune bashing, a sunset stop, sandboarding, a camel ride, henna and a BBQ buffet with live shows, from AED 90 per person.
Morning desert safari: The morning desert safari runs as a private tour for up to 4 people, at AED 500 per vehicle. Pickup is at 7:00–7:30 AM and you are back at your hotel by about 11:30 AM. It includes 15–20 minutes of dune bashing, sandboarding and a camel ride, with no dinner or shows.
Premium Red Dunes safari: The Premium Red Dunes Safari keeps the evening timings but goes deeper into the high Lahbab dunes, with our longest sandboarding runs and dinner at a quieter premium camp. It starts from AED 150 per person.
VIP desert safari: The VIP desert safari picks you up at 2:30–3:00 PM and returns you by about 10:00 PM. You ride with fewer guests, go out in the first wave of dune bashing, sit in a reserved majlis lounge and get a table-served BBQ dinner, from AED 250 per person.
Desert safari with quad bike: This package adds a self-drive quad bike session to the full evening safari, from AED 240 per person. Solo riders must be 16 or older, and riders under 18 need a guardian present.
Overnight desert safari: The overnight safari starts with the full evening programme, then adds a fire pit, stargazing and a night in a traditional tent. You wake for sunrise, eat breakfast at camp and are back at your hotel by about 8:00 AM, from AED 350 per person.
Private desert safari: A private evening safari gives your group its own 4×4 and driver for up to 6 people, with flexible timing and a reserved dinner table, from AED 540 per vehicle. It is the only option that can carry strollers or wheelchairs.
What is not included: Alcoholic drinks, quad bike and buggy rides (except on the quad bike package), horse riding, falconry photos, pickup outside Dubai and tips cost extra.
Best time to go: October to April is the best time for a desert safari in Dubai, with cool evenings and clear skies. From May to September, choose the private morning safari or an evening tour once the sun goes down. Overnight safaris are best from November to March.
Who can join: Children of all ages are welcome at the camp, dinner and shows. Camel rides start from age 5 and sandboarding from age 6. For safety, children under 3, pregnant guests and anyone with back, neck or heart conditions cannot join dune bashing.
Cancellation: Cancel 48 hours or more before pickup for a full refund. Cancelling 24–48 hours before pickup gets a 50% refund, and cancellations under 24 hours are non-refundable.
