About This Tour

The adventure half of a desert safari, without the wait until sunset

“Entire dune fields to yourself, before most of Dubai has had breakfast.”

While most visitors head out at sunset, our morning departure takes you into the red dunes shortly after breakfast — when the sand is cool underfoot, the light is crisp and golden, and the dunes are largely untracked.

After hotel pickup, you’ll reach the dunes in around 45 minutes, then head straight into an exhilarating dune bashing session with a licensed desert driver. Sandboarding follows on slopes that hold their shape beautifully in the morning, then a short camel ride and plenty of time for photos. By early afternoon you’re back at your hotel.

Adrenaline-focused travellers often pair this departure with a self-drive quad session or the Can-Am Maverick X3 Dune Buggy experience. Groups who want their own vehicle can convert the morning into a Private Desert Safari.

Good To Know

What to Expect

The Morning Advantage

Desert temperatures drop sharply overnight, so a 9:00 AM start can be 10–15°C cooler than mid-afternoon. The dunes are also freshly wind-smoothed and largely empty.

Dune Bashing

Around half an hour of climbing, sliding, and drops across the dunes. Drivers are licensed, vehicles carry full safety equipment, and seatbelts stay on at all times.

Effort Level: Easy

Sandboarding is optional and beginner-friendly — stand or sit on the board and slide, no experience needed. Walking on soft sand is the most strenuous part.

Weather Considerations

Even in the morning, the desert sun is strong. Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat are essential year-round. Dec–Feb mornings can start cool.

Accessibility

Wheelchair Users

Soft-sand terrain makes the standard tour unsuitable. Contact us to discuss modified arrangements.

Strollers

Can be carried in the vehicle, though the desert itself is not stroller-friendly.

Infants

Under 3s cannot join dune bashing for safety. Families with infants should book a private vehicle.

Before You Go

Additional Information

Best Time to Visit

This tour shines year-round, but it’s the single best desert option from May to September, when evening heat lingers.

What to Wear

Light clothing, closed shoes or secure sandals, sunglasses, and a hat. Sand gets everywhere — dress accordingly.

What to Bring

Sunscreen, a charged camera or phone, and a small bag for loose items during dune bashing.

Safety Tips

Keep seatbelts fastened during the drive, follow your driver’s guidance on which slopes are safe to board, and stay hydrated.

Booking Advice

Morning slots are easier to secure than sunset ones, but cruise-season weekends (Nov–Mar) still fill up — book 2–3 days ahead.

Morning is cooler, quieter, shorter, and better for photography and summer travel. Evening adds the desert camp, BBQ dinner, sunset, and live shows. Many visitors with longer stays do both.
