How much does a desert safari in Dubai cost?
Desert safari prices in Dubai start at around AED 125 per person for a shared morning safari and can reach AED 1,500 or more for premium private experiences. Desert Leap Safari offers transparent, all-inclusive packages starting from AED 250 per person for our popular evening safari, which includes hotel transfers, dune bashing, BBQ dinner, entertainment, and more.
Is a Dubai desert safari worth the money?
Yes. A desert safari is consistently rated among the top experiences in Dubai and offers genuine cultural, natural, and entertainment value. With the right operator, it is one of the best value experiences you can have in Dubai. Desert Leap Safari guests rate their experience 4.9 stars on average across all major review platforms.
What is included in the price?
All Desert Leap Safari packages include: return hotel transfers, dune bashing, camel riding, sandboarding, traditional Arabic welcome, unlimited BBQ dinner, live entertainment, and soft drinks. Some packages also include quad biking, falconry shows, and VIP camp upgrades.
Do I need to book in advance?
We strongly recommend booking at least 48 hours in advance, especially during peak season (October to March) when tours fill up quickly. Booking also secures the best available prices.
The Experience
How much time is required for a desert safari in Dubai?
An evening desert safari typically runs from around 3 pm to 10 pm, totalling approximately 6 to 7 hours. Morning safaris run from 6 am to 10:30 am (4 to 5 hours). Overnight safaris begin in the afternoon and conclude the following morning. Most guests find the evening safari fits perfectly into their Dubai itinerary.
Which desert is best for a safari in Dubai?
The red dunes of Al Lahbab (on the Dubai-Sharjah border) are the most popular and visually spectacular choice, offering tall red dunes ideal for dune bashing and photography. The Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve offers a quieter, wildlife-focused experience in a protected natural area.
Is morning or evening safari better in Dubai?
It depends on your priorities. Morning safaris are shorter, cooler, and more affordable. Evening safaris are longer, offer a full BBQ dinner and live entertainment, and include the spectacular desert sunset. For most first-time visitors, the evening safari delivers the complete Arabian desert experience.
What should I wear to a desert safari?
Wear light, comfortable, modest clothing. Long trousers or lightweight pants are recommended for dune bashing (cooler and protects skin from sand). Bring a light jacket or layer for cool desert evenings between November and February. Closed-toe shoes are recommended. Avoid high heels and formal clothing.
Is dune bashing safe?
Yes, when done with a licensed, experienced operator. Desert Leap Safari uses professionally maintained Toyota Land Cruisers driven by safety-certified, experienced drivers. All vehicles carry first aid kits, communication devices, and insurance. We follow strict safety protocols on every trip.
Family & Special Requirements
Is desert safari safe for children?
Yes. Desert safaris are a wonderful experience for children aged 4 and above. Children love camel rides, sandboarding, the desert scenery, and the entertainment. We advise that children prone to motion sickness take appropriate medication before the dune bashing segment. Infants and toddlers under 4 can attend the camp but should not participate in dune bashing.
Is desert safari safe for pregnant women?
Dune bashing is not recommended during pregnancy at any stage. Pregnant guests are warmly welcomed at Desert Leap Safari and can enjoy all other camp activities including the camel ride (with doctor approval), BBQ dinner, entertainment and photography. Always consult your doctor before participating in any adventure activity during pregnancy.
Do you cater for vegetarians and vegans?
Yes. Our BBQ dinner buffet includes a wide range of vegetarian and vegan options alongside meat dishes. Please inform us of any dietary requirements at the time of booking.
Can I do a desert safari if I have back problems or health conditions?
Guests with back problems, neck injuries, heart conditions, recent surgery, or other health issues should consult their doctor before participating in dune bashing. The ride is physically demanding. You are still welcome to attend the camp and enjoy all other activities.
